Are pike cichlids, compatible with most fish or are they aggressive or territorial? I have bichars and wonder what the temperment of pike cichlid's is compared to them. And are some more easy going than other's or are they all the same temperement.

Pikes are not passive fish to say the least. They are also different species to species. They are very aggressive to con-specifics, as a general rule of thumb, pikes pretty much don't like each other but seem to do alright with other large, aggressive cichlids. I'm not sure how they would do with birchers. If they are roughly the same size or slightly smaller, they should be alright I suppose, unless the pike does not like the Bircher because of the similar shape and considers it competition.

The biggest problem in my experience with bichers and cichlids
in the same tank is that cichlids are much more aggressive when it comes to feeding. So alot of the times they will not get enough to eat.
Also being that Pikes and Bichs both like to hang at the bottom could pose a problem.

Don't get any pikes from the Reticulata group and you should be fine. You'd have to get a pretty big growing bichir though, as most pikes get large enough to eat a good number of the smaller polys.

My question was'nt really if bichirs and pike cichlids could go together. I mean I also have bichirs and they usually don't bother no other fish unless it fit's in their mouth. I wondered if pike's were like that or it they were territorial, or aggressive. And I wondered what good tankmates would be.:)

Read my post. Pikes are not submissive and passive for the most part, yet again, they are south american cichlids and act like such. Very very predatory and they can be aggressive and territorial

Cool, thanks.
