hey ppl's

i have a p.bass and it's only like 2 inches, but it's always hungry...like i'm talkin 3-5 BW a day...and i know they are huge eaters but for a 2 inch fish.... lol, he folows me round the tank and as soon as i drop it in he absolutely mauls it...is it time for me to start using feeders do u think...or keep it on BW for a lil longer...?

you can use pieces of shrimp from the grocery store, you can use frozen silversides from LFS and can feed him ghost shrimp.

stay away from feeders,... theyre only "treats"... get some market shrimp... he'll love it

How lucky, my baby p.bass wont eat anything unless it looks scared sh*tless and swimming around. I tried feeders, bloodworms, krill and mysis. Consider yourself lucky.

I now feed all my juvie pbass feeders only.

"feeders" as in goldfish can be very unhealthy as a staple diet. Guppies and rosies are much better but you should still offer your fish a varied diet so it can remain happy and healthy.

For further info on the health problems associated with goldfish just search the topic there are several threads on it.

You might also try raising fries of prolific cichlids like tilapia and use them as feeders.

I raise them to about an inch over a period of one month. They are fast growers and eats practically anything and can be raised by the thousands in small tanks or tubs with only an airstone.

Feed the feeders a variety of food prior to offering to your monster so they become more nutritious.

Raising your own feeders minimizes the health risk associated with feeders coming from the lfs.
