real drift wood vs. fake???????

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A pic or two would really help.

I would say fake .(now) I've had real in my tank for years but it discolors your water and messes with your water.

Some of us Love the natrual colors that are added to the system with Real wood:) It is really at your pleasure..... Plus you can take care of Tannins... And they do slow down or stop after a while.. Sometimes a LONG while but a while :)

what do you mean by slow down or stop, I guess you are reffering to "Tannins" what ever those are? Sorry it's the newby thing again, haha

Tannins .. that leech from the wood while submerged in water and color your water usually a tea color.. under different lights it is different.. All in all.. tannins are one of the few ways to keep jumpy arows calmer..... Some use almond tea leaves for this effect.

After a period of time the tannins and other properties of the wood are leeched out to the point they don't discolor your water anymore...
