After considerable terror-ization of their tankmates, my new pair of Red Terrors spawned last night. Figures my camera is down cause the color flashing between rival females was incredible!!! Fluorescent orange and yellow between attacks! There are not many eggs but since no one died, I count it as a win! Most look fertile but not counting anything until free swimming and stolen from the parents. Woo Hoooooooooo! My last RT spawn was 16 years ago, so this rocks!:headbang2

Congrats, very cool. Post pics when you can.

dude that rocks ,i only wish i had some of my own to breed ,i only have a male about a year and a half now.and since i've owned him ive been lokking for other fastaes to put in my tank.

Congrats! I found my 12" male dead this morning, so no more spawns for me.

The male in your avatar is dead?! What happened? That sucks.
Cichla.- congrats on your spawn. I'm glad that your pair didn't kill their tankmates. Still, I wonder if they will be so kind after their spawn are free-swimming.

what happened? i know females can become aggressive when not wanting to lay eggs for the male and start beating on the male. the males could kick there arse but they dont for some reason i guess they just dont want to hurt her and just take the beating until there dead. is that what happened to you?

Red Terrors are great parents until the fry has been free-swimming for a few weeks then the male can become a real bastard and a divider may be needed.

Fishluvr12 - That really sux!!!!!!!!! I know - I lost my pair the day after Xmas to a cracked tank - had the male for 3 years the female for 2 spawaned 6x. I've really enjoyed lookin' at your Festae over the past year - best I can say is get back up on the horse and get another.
