Has anyone tried a real life lighting scheme.

for eg.yellow light in the mornig, white light for miday, yellow again for sunset and blue for the moonlight.

if so.any advise or tips making this work good.

I've seen this done a couple of times, and even planned one out. It involved X number of either t-5 fluorescent tubes that are slightly shorter than the width of the tank or pendant style CFL lights of the same number. If you ran each off a seperate lamp timer, and had them turn on and off with the progress of the sun (so at, say, noon, you could have the middle 2-3 on) and colored moonlights (they make them in tons of different colors) for the accent lighting; to switch on at dawn and dusk.
