Realistic tank size for electric eels?

I know big as possible but thats always going to be restricted by space and cost.

So what kind of size tank should I be looking at for 2-3 eels?

I currently have a 32" EE in a 4x3 and by looks he'll be comfy in there until he reaches about 43" maybe. I also have a small 10" EE which will be going through various grow out tanks before she joins the big lad, and I might be acquiring a third.
