So coming back from college after 4 days to do my regular water change I realized that I have this little nasty worm problem. From doing some research It seems to be Planaria. As I read I heard they are not harmful, but extremely unsightly. All the sites said 1 thing. That I needed to do a water change and put some aquarium salt. and Clean my gravel. Well here is where the problem occurs. I do not have gravel, I use pool filter sand. I am going to tell my parents to feed them less. But I was wondering if there is a way to get rid of Planaria. Keep In mind that the fish I have are Clown Loaches, Clown Knife, Bichirs, and Parrots. And Though Clown Loaches eat snails they dont seem to be getting the planaria. Any Ideas?

At the last aquarium society auction, planeria cultures were being sold as fry food.
The reason you have loads of them is probably as you suspect, over feeding. They thrive where there is excess detritus (uneaten food). Paradise gouramis are planeria lovers.
