so the past few days one of my two GSPs(the smaller of the two) has had an extremely fat belly. but the thing is that she didnt eat today at feeding time and only ate a little yesterday. she does not show signs of bloat other than being larger than normal. swims around normal, explores the same as always. checks out all the empty shells on the surface to see if there are any snails, comes to the front pretty much to say hi to everyone who comes to the tank as always. i also saw her doing what seemed like cleaning this fake plant i have in the tank. i havent saw any type of courting or something that might be like that. i just always see them follow eachother around the tank, hunt for snails together. i can take and post a picture tomorrow if needed. but to me it seems like she is almost showing signs of pregnancy or at least looking for somewhere to lay eggs pretty soon. and she definitely looks big enough to be carrying eggs. i know this is unlikely, not even documented thats how unlikely it is, but im almost convinced this is the case with her "cleaning" this plant and being so big but not bloat. she hasnt even showed any signs of aggression or anything so i dont know exaclty what to think. and i cant find information to help figure out if she is carrying eggs or not. please let me know what you think and any suggestions or care tips. im a freak with this tank cause i have brought my puffers so far, so i know everything parameter wise is good. the puffers are what i have the most pride in with this tank and i want to keep them for as long as possible. the one that i would consider the male is about 4 to 4 1/2 inches. and the one that i think is carrying eggs is about 3 1/2 inches to 4 inches. please help me lol :WHOA:

Gosh, it's only been one day, give folks a chance to post a response. Or post it at my forum. ;) My thought is maybe constipated. Have you seen it poop?

well i was kind of freaking out because without eating that well she was getting bigger, but when i got home from work yesterday she seemed like she got smaller also ate again so im guessing yeah the puffer was probably constipated. i spend about at least an hour a night watching my tank checking everything out and i can say i never really see anyone poop. but she seems back to normal size. i just thought the cleaning of the plant thing was a little strange and might show signs of looking for a place to lay eggs. i will have to favorite your forum with this forum cause im constantly on here trying to find new stuff out but since its not extremely active it seems like i have read every post lol.

Treat constipation with 1 tbsp Epsom salt/5g.
