Hi i have an emergancy my texas is really sick and no signs of illness so i dont know what to get at the local petstore for a quick remdy to at least keep him alive untill i can get the good stuff its not dropsy no ich or fungus i do believe it might be an internal parasite because he constantly scrathes himself on rocks etcf... and twitches like does alil shake while swimming none of my other fish do it just him that it was normal but not anymore i really like this guy alot and dont want him to pass im doing a water change right now ive added aquarium salt and stress coat should i turn up the heat and im not going to put in new water yewt dont wanna stress him out i want to buy the medicine first let it run through for a couple hours and then put in the new water ive done a 25 percent water change or will be doing should i do 50 % please let me know the he is fading pretty quickly thanks to all who post back with any heklpful advise

What are your water parameters? A fish rubbing himself on rocks usually means ammonia is present..............

should i do it now or after the water change
and just as a quick remedy should i raise the tempurature in the tank to like 80 to reduce stress or something and also keep in mind i can only afford or find regular petstore medication even if it just keeps him alive till i can get a better medicing online or something which would be in a few days week top

aight i was thinking of actually buying the medicine first letting it run through the water ive already taken 25 % of the old water out and asfter about like 2 hours of the medicine running in the tank adding the new water thinking it might be less stressful on him to me he is just laying at the bottom of the tank dont wont him to croak

what medicine are you going to buy, if you don't know what is wrong with the fish (?!?)

test your water first, so that you can narrow down the possible problems . . . what are your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate readings?

i just picked up parasite guard made by tetra it says to dissolve it then pujt it in the water im going to give this a try its cheap but hopefully it works
