Ok, I am in need of as much help as possible here. My flowerhorn eggs hatched today and I was there with the turkey baster collecter the wrigglers placing them in a container as I had them ina shared tank which was divided off but I was worried that the baby cons were going to get in, (which they did a few times grrr)

I have now removed the cons and all eggs are hatched. I have placed them into a breeder net so that they are in a more confined space. I also have an air stone in the tank. What happens next? I have setup some BBS to hatch but I have never had any luck collecting the shrimp from the water.

OH GOD SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME :WHOA:

I am in a similarish situation to you at the moment.

What someone told me to do with the brine is basically to grow it in a bottle, have a few bottles of every day. So have say 3 ready, labeled day 1,2,3. Then basically use one, make it again type thing.

He suggested that I use a more clear bottle and use light to attract the brine to then you can pour it into a net, clean and then put into the tank with the baby fish.

Not sure if this is true, if this works, how reliable any of this is - I only found out tonight and am about to start the process for the very first time, so please don't take my word for it, its just what I was told.

I am sure someone will come along soon and maybe give better advice.

All the brine shrimp is in the top and middle of the hatching solution, on the bottom is all the egg shells. Just use a syringe type thing or a turkey baster to suck them up. As the other posted said, you can make a rotating supply so that when one is used another is ready. You can aslo use fish flakes crushed very fine, and they can eat that. I had a small 1/2 fry I been raising for about 3 weeks now, and have been feeding it crushed flakes. The fish is now 1 1/4 inch.

I also crushed cichlid pellets very fine too and fed that.

Thankyou for ur replies. This morning my wrigglers seem to be still going ok. Will they be wanting something to eat yet? One thing I do feed my baby fish is cichlid pellets and flake that has been soaked in water from the tank so that it is kinda in the same fine form as what the brine shrimp would be. Just a matter of knowing when to start feeding I guess.
