For 3 weeks now I have been combatting an algae bloom that has made my water green and murky.
Plants I got.
Shade I have.
Anti-algae additives I have.
UV I have.
Yet it just gets worse and worse. So I replaced my UV bulb - perhaps it was too weak - yet no improvement.
I was starting to give up when I thought perhaps there is something blocking the UV blub - maybe a piece of cloth or something else.
I took apart my filter and all looked ok. So I decided to take apart the sleeve that holds the UV and in side was calcium & mineral cakeup the thickness of a wall:
So I used some anti-mineral liquids on it and cleaned it off and washed it down and now it looks like this:
Now to let the UV do its job over a couple of days.
