Thank you all.
Most of the fish have been in the tank for 3-4 years except a few that have been in for 6 mo - the Arrowana is one of those I've had for 6 months. He's been growin' out just fine with the Cichlids and is currently about 14-15" in length but not real wide/tall maybe 3-4". The cichlids don't bother him any more than he nips back at them. He will be re-housed in one of my 200+ tanks one of these days but I've yet to see the need. I'm also not a huge fan of the orniments but it's in the dinning room not the fish room so I answer to a higher authority - the wife.
The Tank is 125 gal. long - 6'x 18"x 22" Filtration is custom - 3 Marineland 90's filled with ceramic bio-rings and scrubber pads. The Bio wheels never stop spinning unless the scrubbers get too dirty. My water change schedule is 50% every weekend approx. 500 gal. a week from 11 tanks. The HOBs and Cannisters are cleaned out every 2-3 mo. and almost never really that dirty. The scrubbers are replaced monthly. I am also proud to say Carbon use is an extreme rarity anymore.
A Black background sounds wonderful! - it is certainly in the future plans or at least a background of some sort. To be honest - I have 12 tanks 11 currently running with over 100 fish in the house. I am in and outta the Fish store every 2 weeks and it seems to always be forgotten as the maintence supplies for the tanks and food always takes priority - Silverslides, Talpia fillets, Krill, Shrimp, Hikari Excel, Hikari Massivore, Hikari Protien Stix, Supirulina, Algae waffers, live Mollie feeders, live juvi cichlid feeders, scrubber pads, dechlorinators w/chlorime bond breakers, 20 -30 dpi mechanical filtration, replacement heaters, bulbs, impellers, etc... you get the picture.
As for the arrowana I had him down in a South American set up at first he got chewed up by Cudas and Red Terrors - he's a happy camper with the Africans BUT not the largest fish in the tank - all currled up in the yellow rock orniment is a 15" Ornate Bichir - he's huge wish he would've come out for the photo shoot - maybe next time. Once I aquire and grow out a few more Datniods the Arrowana will be heading into a S.E. Asian theme tank. Thanks again.
