Recomendation on washer and dryer set....

Can you guys help me ? I am open to front or top loaders. With so many brands out there, I am confused..

I'd like to get an input of the following;

1. What brand do you have ?
Model number if available..

2. How long have you have it ?

3. Would you buy the same washer and dryer again ?

4. How much do you use it ?

I like to use liquid soap and half of what is stated on the detergent label.

Kenmore front loader washing machine. Top loader dryer. (set) Love 'em! Front loading washing machines are too damn expensive. I doubt they would ever save you enough money compared to a regular machine.

we bought a new ge washer 2 years ago and have had it fixed more times than i can count, and then replaced, and then the new one fixed more times than i can count. it broke every 2 weeks. finally the last repairman told us that this certain model(i do not have the model #) has a design flaw and every person that bought it has the same problems and that ge will not replace it, no matter what.

finally atleast we know its not our fault and i wish the other 20 repairmen would man up and told me this 2 years ago. last weekend i threw the piece of crap away and bought the cheapest kenmore washer we could find and love it.

i will never buy another ge product, even if it was just this certain washer, the hell i have gone through because of them for 2 years really pisses me off.

oh and by the way when i was shopping for my new washer this weekend, the same ge washer that is a piece of crap is still being sold so watch out.

3. Would you buy the same washer and dryer again ? Absolutely, very little work/maintenance, and even folds the clothes.

4. How much do you use it ? Almost everyday!

My sister has expensive Maytag front-loaders and knows the repairman by first name (he's not so lonely after all...).

The repair guy recommended that she get a pair of "Speed Queen" units when the warranty is up on her Maytags. They make mostly commercial machines, but they do have a homeowner line as well.
