uk
to add salt as a short term help for my rays.
i need to know how much is recomended to add?

grams per uk gallon?
pounds per us gallon?

after the problems ive had, my rays are still abit stressed and ones eyes are slightly couldy. they are back to feeding and are quite active again but there pattern is gunner take along time to come back to anything like normal i think.

water is perfect already, 25% wc perday.

will putting the temp up for a while help any? i run at 81f normally. i dont see how it would help if if theres a chance it would then ill do it.

put it up to what?

80-85 degrees and 1 lb of salt per 100 gallon as a general good health practice and up to 4 lbs per 100 gallons for hard core treatment. I have only done the 4 lbs per 100 one time for a bacterial out break. For you I would stay around 2-3 lbs and stay in the temp range I mentioned.

in your situation i would prob do 1 lb per 100 gal

i have used salt before but not for years. i used it in a light dose for some reason carnt remember why to be honest.

my tank is 1100 liters also on the system is
4ftx10"x15" tank
2.5ftx12x15 sump (half full)
fluval fx5
ehime pro 2

so im thinking of (very roughly)working on 1200 liters in my system by the time water is displaced by fish, substrate ect.

im working out on adding 4kg to my system. i will not be adding any more and wc`s will dilute it over time.

i would up the temp to 86 and leave at that

i also wouldnt do more than 2 water changes per week 25% at most nitrates dont seam to efect rays

keep using the polyfilter 2-4 at sheets at one go and change it every 2-3 weeks

to tell the truth it all seams to have gone tits up since you told me about the bad batch of pellets you got i would stop feeding them and buy new ones just to be safe

already did that mate, they went in the bin.

the big male went to sleep thursday because i couldent watch him suffer anymore but the rest have pull right round and seem to be getting better and better.
the only ray not affected was the female marble motoro, she is a tank!
