I need something that can co-exist with a BGK. My BGK is around 7 inch and doesnt bother other fish, mostly sticks to its hiding spot. I noticed right now my Jewel Cichlid and the BGK are going through a showdown.

I guess the Jewel wats the BGKs territory now. I cam into the room and noticed my BGK was on the opposite side of the tank hovering about mid level and the BGK and Jewel were facing each other. Kinda like test biting, no real contact though. Then the Jewel will try to go for the BGKS tail.

They kinda been in a showdown like that for awhile, the BGK is trying to be passive about it. It is trying to go back to its hiding spot but its like hanging out rught outside the log and acting like it doesnt wanna go in. The jewel will stay inside the log and swim around it like its trying to secure the terrotory. They will swim around and then face each other at mid level in the tank.

I have a Juvinile Green Terror in there as well. Its mellow, and sometimes it gets picked on by the Jewel. Im atarting to think if I should just keep the GT (I planned ot get rid of it later). But then I start thinkignt hat when the GT gets bigger it might get mre aggressive. Could they co-exist in a 55?

Anyway, I'd like to have something on the smaller side, a cichlid that maxes like 5-6 inches. Is there anything you can recommend? This Jewel is getting too territorial. I really like it but I dont want tankmates dead. And theres only 3 fish, the ones I named. Thx

I know, the Jewel is cool but its getting more territorial. I think Id rather keep the BGK because its mellow. If I were to get rid of the BGK, I know I would have a hard time added something to the tank with the Jewel there. Plus I like the BGK a little more.

cubans would probably kill either fish if not both.
i'd just stick to a pleco and the bgk with some tetras and other community fish.
tank would look pretty good.
