Recommendation for return pump

Hi guys,

I am new to big tanks but as decided to take the plunge for a 5 x 3 x 2.5 ft set up with sump filtration for Arowana.

Can I check what will you guys recommend for a reliable return pump - Ehiem Universal 3400 or 2400 or if there are any other better option?

Jebao makes decent pumps that arent too expensive.

If this is not reliable, I don't know what is.... already 1.5yrs with sand... but at the same time, is always good to have a spare pump

I like fluval sp series. Motors are bullet proof. Energy consumption isn't bad and you throttle it with a valve on the return.

These pumps are surprisingly durable. I use a spare one to pump out muddy rain water from and area near the house that turns into a small lake
