I was interested in getting a pike cichlid. But wanted to make sure it's compatible with my tank. I have a 125 with 3 Polypterus, a red wolf fish, and 4 pink tail chalceus. Also, would any dwarf species work as they can be aggressive enough to match the other fish? So if someone can make a recommendation or their concerns about the tank/fish....thanks.

A dwarf would probably end up wolf food.

I'd be concerned about the red wolf since crenicichla don't like other fish that look like them. I don't think a dwarf will work since the polys and wolf will eat them. Most saxatilis and some of The less agressive lugubris sp. work fine

Depends on your wolf. My red was a killer especially if fish were bigger than him. He'd tear them apart. Also pikes can be *******s if they are much bigger

Do you think polys and uaru might be risky?

My old 7 inch Venezuelan was chill with an 9-10 inch albino Senegal bichir. Had also a 7-8 inch indo tarpon, 5 inch silver dollar and a 6 inch boulengerella. Not too aggressive only snapped at the silver fish when they got too close. No chasing. Only a 75 gallon. Might wanna reconsider uaras but I guess you'll never know till u try. Mine was chill till I sold him
