hey everyone I'm new to South/central American cichlids but not to fish I've been keeping African cichlids for 15yrs n decided to setup a tank with something different. My tank is 72"x20"x20" with 3 oscars, JD and turquoise severum they range from 2"-3" want to grow them out and see how everything works out and as they grow either move certain to fish to different tanks or re-home when the time comes.. any way I was looking for advise for a catfish that can go into this setup?? I thought about Pictus but read somewhere they dont recommend them with oscars Bc if there spines on their fins.. any ideas???

Well pretty much all cats have spines in their pectoral fins asa form of defense. But I'd not recommend picture because they don't get that big and definitely don't grow fast. I'd look at medium sized cats like sun cat, blochii, ornate pim, syno, Asian upside down cat, bolt cat. Things that get around a foot ideally.
