They are very slow growers. I have my 6" Irwini in a 450. You can go smaller for sure

IMHO, 7'x2' footprint won't be adequate for either adult fish, especially achara. If 3' is the width, it'd be far better but still not enough. I'd say 8'x4' is a minimum footprint. But we are talking adults. Achara should be at 2' mark in 1.5-2.5 years. As tank mates, both fish are fine.
