hey you guys,
i wanna know the tank size suitable for my Clarias batrachus
i just love them(yes i know they turn too big to fast, eat like hell and need space) but what the heck
that why we are here at mfk are we not?(coz we dig monster fish)

so back to question what size tank for Clarias batrachus for a pair
so many Qs but lets get this one first

I have two 12" walking cats in a 90 gallon. So far they seem fine. I bought them this size and do not know there proper age. Once I am done my 300+ gallon, that is where they will live. I think a tank 6 feet long is minimum for these fish, they love to swim.

Minimum physical footprint of 4xL by 2xL where L is the fish's length. Bigger is better, especially for active swimmers.

You could keep a pair in a 6*2 for a year but clarias get surprisingly bulky with age due to their pigging out habit. Whilst they do move around they are on my what I would call "lazy catfish" list. Hence being able to keep them to 12" or more in a 6 *2 and that they are still very flexible at that age. I would of course always suggest bigger is better and once they get to their adult size a 6*2 would not be big enough.
