I have watched my cichlids eat krill and it seems like a lot of it doesn't even stay in their mouths, so I started soaking it in a bowl or water for a few hours (in the same manner as weaning puppies) before giving it to them. I know a lot of fish food generally loses nutrients when it hits the water, but these plump up and get bigger. Am I working against myself or is that not accurate for krill/shrimp.

Does anyone know of any benefits or detriments that I may have overlooked or am I Good 2 Go?

Don't overthink these stuff. Put it in a small container let it thaw out and dump the water with the krill in the tank and your set. It's frozen krill in pretty sure you're not doing anything by thawing it before.

I honestly think it's better to thaw it out before because usually some fish will take it whole it won't let anything else eat it.

He said freeze dried not frozen so I don't think thawing is the issue
I soak mine if I don't crush it so my fish can all eat it not just the silver dollars

No, I worded it wrong, he replied in the most thoughtful intelligent response as per thread title.

If it was anyone's fault, it was mine, that's why I had a mod change the title. My sincerest apologies Mr. Ihsnshaik Ihsnshaik and celebrist celebrist . I'd like as much of your input as I can get and thank you both for sharing your opinions.

Yes, that's what I do for the live-bearers and dithers and Rams- powder it with your thumb and forefinger? - but dry...not reconstituted

I don't think there is any "fault" or blame for anyone, just an exchange of ideas and information. I sometimes put some garlic guard in the water when I soak food. I can't really weigh in on frozen as I don't use it very much
