"The longnose gar’s ancestry dates back to among the most primitive of species. This brackish water fish features a long, cylindrical body..."

in MD and many other coastal areas they are considered brackish as they are often found in brackish water and frequently complete saltwater (even a mile off the coast in some cases). probably not completely accurate to consider it a brackish species, but at least several coastal populations could be considered brackish.--

I am 46 and am far more saltwater (Chesapeke Bay, Del. Bay, Indian River & Atlantic Ocean). Most of my freshwater fishing is froom either the resivours, or the triburaries near the middle bay like the Magathoy, Severn & Choptank. I have never hit the Susquehana, Potomac or Patuxent (YET!).

I actually have not been fishing in 2 years.

Huh. I didn't know that about the longnose populations and saltwater, pretty nifty.
