I have a 5-6 month old oscar has lost his appetite, He had HITH a month or so ago and I treated with metro and a parasite guard from tetra. He seems to be recovering just fine, but the only things I can get him to eat bloodworms, and he shows very little interest then. He alone is in a 95 gal. tank. Recently I gave away a gold saum that beat him on a regular basis and I don't know if that would have anything to do with the loss of appetite. I do 30% water changes weekly and the parameters of my water are good, 0 ammonia, less than 5ppm nitrates. The ph is a little high 7.5-8, but it has always been. He used to eat like a horse, so I guess I'm wondering is this normal or is he still sick, how long does recovery from HITH take, or does he need more treatment.

Sounds like he's still sick. A 6" oscar is normally a complete hog. I would recommend stepping up the water changes to at least 50-75%/wk and adding Epsom salt to the water. Also, to increase his appetite, try bringing the water temp up to around 82-84.
Search for a thread titled "Treating Hexamita" and there is a lot of great info in there. Kent also makes a product called "Garlic Xtreme" and I've had good success getting fish clear of internal parasites with that. Good luck.
Oh! And when he comes out of this funk get him feeding on NLS or Hikari Bio gold, as those both have garlic in the ingredients and garlic is great at keeping internal parasites from coming back.
