Today I noticed one of my killies was "dead" and stuck to the side of the intake tube for the powerhead. I pulled him out and realized he had just died because he was still "fresh" and had not rigor. Well, while I was admiring his coloration in my hand, he twitched. As soon as he twitched, I put him back into my "fuge" so that he could get a break. The "fuge" is in a high flow area, but does not get a lot of current because of the way it is designed. However, it does get a lot of Oxygen. He has been in there for several hours gasping for breathe and slipping in and out of conciousness. What else should I do to help him out?

bump

it's been 5 hours and he is still alive, but I don't know what is going to happen to him

I had a gourami a long time ago that tried to die unsuccessfully for five days. I tried every treatment known to man but nothing helped. It layed on the bottom of the tank gasping but wouldn't die. Eventually it did, but that taught me that death is part of life and the fish medications that we have are very limited.

My killie was a fighter, but luckily he is not suffering anymore. RIP He doubled in size since when I go him too.
