James0816,
I remember reading years ago about someone that set up an automatic water top off. The tank's return line from the sump was linked to a toilet cabinet. So every time the toilet was flushed the water in the tank would be changed. Don't remember where I read this or any of the technical details though. Had to be nearly 20yrs ago though.

If it were me, I would have a vessel that held the leftover tank water for every time I flushed it instead of an automatic change every time I flushed.

I agree with Camshaft a storage tank with an overflow would be better. if you go away you are still getting the water changes required. if you strictly ran it off the flush then you would have large water changes morning and night and if you had company over could end up changing over all or even more of the water within a day depending on your tank
