As the title suggests, my 5" red aro was spooked a while ago by a guest. She lost a scale as she jumped and hit the glass cover. What should i do? She breathes heavily but still swims. How long will the scale grow back? I had past experiences with lost scales in my silver arowanas, but i am a bit nervous on this baby. Any opinions/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Very common with dragons; frequent partial water changes will help too speed up the process.

i agree with the above and you should be doing this anyway to keep up good health, and keep people a distance away from the tank till he gets bigger
i have my guests do this because of the same reason

It's quite common for an aro to lose a scale or two through jumping.
I've just witnessed a beautiful Red losing 5 scales!
Happened just yesterday it seems, but this red is a work of art, really reddish red, owner was a little downcast.
Nevertheless, the scales will grow back in no time at all, it happens to all aro hobbyists. And not really something to worry about.
