looks to me like they are trying to make the eyes more symmetrical?And clean up the gill plate edge.

He's cutting away the fatty deposits that accumulate behind the eyes, which is the main cause of drop eye. Cutting away gill curl. Slicing between the rays in fins encourages them to grow back in. More fan like shape. Some controversial practices but all very common in south east Asia. I've had to sedate and trim my MGXB fin after a jump and tail drop incident. Nerve wrecking!!

That eyeball surgery was insane. I dunno if it was scientific or not...looked like he juat manhandled that thing. I wanna see the results!
