Just wondering do red arowanas start to color up with red???or do they start with like orange an color to red or pink then color to red???how does it start????
x2. Too many factors involved in this. They may never even colour up depending on bloodline, quality, and environment.Gr8KarmaSF;4475311; said:It all starts by looking at the parents and knowing what kind of red you have, otherwise when purchased very young it can be almost impossible to know the outcome when it grows up, at least thats what Ive read....

and to mac they are NOT LEGAL in the U.S.A at all.
First you must buy it from a reputable farm, like maju or elkindo, however every farm has a bad batch once in a while.
Some people know what too look for in reds to predict how they will look but even thats by a longshot.
Personally i bought mine at 10 inches to atleast guess what kind of potential my aro had and im quite happy, some start out orange and go onto a deep red and some stay orange. however i have seen many arowana that all of a sudden evolve onto the red phase at 20 inches for example so its all about patience.
haha
