Well, for the last little while, my Jaguar Cichlid and my Red Bay Snook have been pretty much inseparable, guarding and cleaning various spots around the tank. Finally, yesterday, my Jaguar finally decided to lay eggs. They've both been guarding this pot since then, and doing a good job of it. I'm hoping the Snook did his part of the deal, but today there are a few white eggs that the Jaguar hasn't picked out, but most are still tan.

I'm in the progress of uploading a video on youtube of the two defending the pot, and shots of the eggs. Other than that, I'm hoping it will work out for them,

I'd been trying to find out whether or not it's been done before, and came across one post on a forum from someone claiming to have done it, but it's nothing too in depth and doesn't have a final result. Other than that, I've come up short in research.

So, I turn to you MFK. Does anyone know if it's possible for them to hybridize, or has anyone heard of it being done before?

EDIT: Here's the video.

Jinx'd it. *palm-face*

The eggs are all slowly turning white, leaving me to believe the Snook didn't do his part. They still, however, are guarding them very well. I think it may have to do with the Snook possibly too big to fit into the pot that the Jag chose to lay her eggs in. That, and the Jag doesn't seem to realize she needs to pick the white eggs out of the batch, as she left them while they were changing. Fingers are crossed for next time.

That's what I was thinking as well, hoping for the best next time, if there is one. They're still guarding the white eggs, *palm-face*
