He is about 12" and I have had him for 5 years but he was a couple of years old before I got him.

He eats all different kinds of pellets and as far as color it changes according to his mood as you can see in the photos. They were taken on different days.

Nice one. A few years ago, I had 5 adults in a 125g and fed them floating cichlid sticks. They hit the surface like few fish. Got some green ones now. Just a unique fish - gotta like the "gape-and-sucks".
 
I try to avoid floating pellets for that reason because if someone else goes for it the splashing starts.

I could see if you have a nice floor under the tank, but splashing is encouraged in my fish room. :cool:
