Red-Bellied Cooters

Does anybody know how much of a difference there is between Florida red-bellied cooters and Northern red-bellied cooters? It's hard to find images of them online, as well as info, but I'd like to get one.

I assume care is the same as any other cooler or slider?

Yea, the N. Red-bellied is Endangered so I wouldn't think available in the trade.

Ok. By the way... Any recommendations on where to get turtles from (websites, breeders, etc)? I've ordered from underground reptiles once, other than that I just get them from local stores.

I always bought most of my reptiles at Expos....what area are you in, might be one near you.

I'm in Troy, Michigan (metro-Detroit). I only know of one, and it's a bit of a drive from where I am.

probably worth the drive....I drive an hour to some shows, if you're into reptiles it's your best bet. you make up for the gas $$ by saving on purchases, sometimes 100-200% compared to LPSs

They have reptile expos in Birch Run pretty regularly. It's still a drive, but thought I would let you know.
