Hi. I'm not sure this is the correct thread so please forgive me if incorrect. I have a red-bellied pacu we rescued from a coworker. She is now about 25 pounds and about 18 inches long. She is frustrated in her tank and we really want to get her somewhere bigger. We are in the Denver area if anyone can help. Please and thank you.

It's going to be a tough one, Karen. People who rescue pacu are very few and in between, even among those who can house them. And those who can house them are rare. So rare times rare equals extremely rare. Unless you seriously luck out, I don't see a bright future for this poor pacu.

If you brought it to SW Florida, I have a couple of local peer rescuer nuts who want pacu, imagine that, but of course coming from Colorado, it'd be a joke.

If you fail at all, please, never release it in the wild. Euthanize with clove oil - it is easy and humane. Sorry if I am too negative too early.
