Hi im just new here at MFK! Ive been taking care of 5 red bellied piranhas in a 75 gallon tank. I took consideration to all factors, such as light, noise, water and food. But still my RBPs are not reddish under their bodies. Ive been taking care of them for 8 months. The biggest is about 7". Smallest is around 6. Please any suggestions or comments will do.

When they get older and bigger they lose their spots and red bellies however some fade more then others. Diet, lighting and water color can greatly effect colors. They look good to me. Nice shoal imo

Try some NLS pellets for better colors.

In a black water setup, my reds usually dont look very red, but in clear water with a whiter light, the reds really show well.

Is that a snake head in there with them?

Thanks for the comments, so are you saying ill change light shade or light color? Also, i change water every week about 40-50%. And their only 8-9 months old, so should they be losing color that fast? thanks! BNvA-CICUAEIOev.jpg

You are kidding about feeding your fish a hamster? That is sick, cruel and likely not a healthy option......
