After not having my tank set for a few years I finally got it running again and I'm back in the hobby! Right now I have some CA cichlids in it and ...well, I'm just not very interested in them. I have had red bellies before in a 55, but only had them a few months. I now have a 150gal that's 72x18x30 with a large wet/dry and 40gal sump under it. How many RB's could I get in the tank? I saw that there are specials for a dozen, too many? Add more? Looking for advice, thanks!

I have a tank the exact size as yours which I'm intending to use for RBPs. From what I've read on here (no expert myself), is that you should start with 8-9 and settle at 6 as they grow (one P per foot of tank). Keep posting updates, I'll need 'em. Good luck.

Thanks! I think I will order the dozen, then I'll have extras in case thy kill each other. Once they start gowing I'll reduce the numbers to 6-7.
