hey im trying to convert my reb bellies onto pellets. what is the best method for doing this? they have been eating bloodworms and occasionally some feeders after a good quarantine.

have you tried at all?

i put floating pellets in, they ate about 2, next time they ate about 6 and from the third time they ate all 12 i put in for them.

at first they would eat them at nite wen its dark easier than during the day.

some people arn't as lucky with their piranhas as you were or i was (mine ate em right away as well)

Generaly the best method is soak the pellets in garlic juice and the piranhas go nuts over them. and eventualy (after several feedings) stop soaking them in the garlic juice and they should still eat them.

Another method is chop up their regular food in to pellet sized chunks and keep tossing them in. As soon as the piranhas are right up to the surface start ocassionaly tossing in a pellet instead, They should go for it anyway and hopefully aquire a taste for it.

Piranhas arn't picky like some other fish and can usualy be gotten onto pellets without to much of a hassle.

i put mine on medium sinking pellets and they got so addicted to them. But now they are starting to grow teeth and they will break there teeth on the rocks, so now i feed mine krill. Because they would never eat a single floating pellet

well i promise you try the cichlid medium pellets , mine would not stop eating them i could keep feeding them and feeding them. but what have you been feeding them besides pellets?

i havent tried pellets yet.. ive been feeding them bloodworms and the occasional feeder fish that have been quarantined..but mostly bloodworms..they are prob about 4".. i just wanted to get them on pellets casue bloodworms is getting expensive..i have cichlid gold medium pellets i was gonna try

I started with cichlid gold floating pellets and them went right after them :D
Now I'm switching them to Massivore pellets

If they are 4" you should have them on more then just pellets and bloodworms
Try some fish fillets, shrimp, krill... There are a lot of different choices... Just spend a little time look through our stickies and you should have a lot of different choices to pick from :D
