First off I'd like to say hello and that I'm new to the site. I have two Red Belly Pacu, and I was wondering if you could give fish to other people on this site because I really can't keep them for much longer. They're both about 6-7 inches long right now. I did not expect that they would get as big as they are and now the tank I have them in right now is getting too small for them. I live in the Western Chicago suburbs. If anybody could help it would be much appreciated.

Your not the first person to have done that either so don't feel too bad. Not many people have the resources to house those beasts. Like stated above try posting them and maybe you'll get lucky.

Ha, I bought one, right before I found MFK. It promptly went back to the store before I got attached.

id post them on craigslist too.. and find anyone with a pond who can keep them.

and FYI - Pacu tastes nasty... not a good option...

sadly, your far from the only one going through this right now. pacu are most likely the most commonly available fish, that just should not be sold to 99.9% of people.

honestly, good luck trying to get a new home for them. it can be very difficult sometimes.

there are always cheap and easy ways of making a large pond to just keep them in yourself if you happened to be fond of your fish by now. have a look in our DIY forum, and the pond forums as well if you have some time. for what you pay for a new glass tank in the store, you could make a 1,000g pond plus buy a filter for the same price, or cheaper.

I live in a townhouse so I can't really make a pond, and we don't have room for a big tank.
