I have no idea if im in the right area for piranhas. I have 1 piranha in a 10 gallon tank. The pet store said he would be fine. What do you think? If you think its bad how fast will he outgrow? My mom will not let me get any bigger tank.

This is where you need to post. He will outgrow it. The first thing to do before you buy any fish is to research its needs, because the folks at the pet store are trying to sell you something, so they're more likely to bend the truth (or, let's be honest, they lie). You should be able to find all the information you need in the above-linked forum.

correct and i would keep a group of these piranha , best in shoals and IMO odd numbers, the rule of thumb as babies thru juvy stage would be 10-15g per fish as adults you would want ample room for free swimming and to avoid cannabilism etc, so 35g min would be advised.

One piranha in a 10g tank would be fine for now, i would set up a tank and let it cycle out then maybe look into other specie ie caribe ternetzi and piraya to add some color to your tank, but def upgrade, just dont rush it.

Moved to Piranha BreedingFrank, I hope you dont mind me moving this thread into your realm, and pinning it - it just dooesnt get the attention it deserves in the picture forum, imo.
