im looking for Red Belly Piranha im in Wisconsin so i can pick up in Wisconsin if your not in Wisconsin id wont them shipped i wont 10 need male and female im looking to breed at some point i dont want to spend more then 55.00 at my door they can be any size

You cant sex piranha until adult stage. Usually when spawning is about to occur. Also the cost of them would be pretty expensive. Just to give you an idea I sold 7 adult proven piranha for $550. I recently purchase 10 adult proven piranha for $600

Babies go for $1-$5. Best bet to get babies and raise them. Good luck.

Hello, I am new on monsterfishkeepers.com and am the owner of a 3yr old Red Belly Pacu - not intentionally though. I live in upstate NY. This is my problem. We bought this 1" fish from walmart in 2007 she was in a group of other small fish that we purchased. We had NO IDEA she would wind up this huge nor did we know she was a RBP! Now she has outgrown the 10 gal, the 20 gal, the 30 gal and now she is in a 55gal and at 15" x 9" x 3.5" - she needs a new home. We can not afford her anymore. We spent countless hours online trying to figure out what type of fish she was and I found a photo of a Pacu and realized we had one. I have posted her up on craigslist for free to a good home of a 250 gal tank or large pond with lots of love, but to no avail. Do you know of anyone on here that can offer advice or perhaps someone who may want her? We already have 2 dogs, 4 cats and little funds. If we knew for one moment what type of fish she was, we would have never taken it on. We had no idea what she was until she was huge. We just want her to have a proper home and someone who is good to her. She eats from my husbands hand. Gotta be careful as she does have teeth, but we feed her hard dog food because the flakes are now not enough. We go through filters like underwear and it's becoming unbearable to take care of the tank. She is in a 55 gal right now. She can turn around, she isn't squished, but I know she is unhappy in there. She needs lots of room to swim. Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading!
