IN FISH PARADISE
hey guys ...

i was wondering about sth important

if i spawn the red cap goldfish

the fry will have the real red cap

or the farms give the fry any kind of Hermione to make the cap Protruding and red ??

A red cap bred with a red cap will produce mostly red cap orandas, you will get a few other colors, but most will be red caps.

The wen will grow if the diet and growth conditions are proper.

ok cool

and what about the direct sun light

does it play any part ??

Direct sunlight is good for the live and natural food of the fry, but irrelevant to the fish itself.

wtf is "hermione" do you mean to say hormone? LOL... or am I missing something?

I have heard that a higher-protein diet will make the goldfish wen (cap) grow faster, bigger... but at the same time, the higher-protein diet makes them more prone to bloat and have trouble with their swim bladder.

I wish I could be of more help. Good luck with your goldie!!!

If you decide to feed more protein in an attempt to grow a huge cap (wen) then please make sure to supplement with peas and other veg. to keep the digestive system moving along...

The buoyancy issue itself is mostly because of air included as the fish ingests them which is why you should absolutely avoid flakes, floating pellets and freeze-dried foods for fancy varieties. High protein diet can be obtained from Mazuri gel foods (5M70 would be my recommendation here) and Hikari Lionhead. Mazuri can be obtained from Ed at Goldfish Utopia online. I use Hikari Lionhead and Mazuri myself for my orandas, lionhead and ranchus. Bloodworms can be added into their diet. Like other commercial foods, both products I suggested are low in fiber so be sure to add vegetable matter in their diet or make gel foods that compose mostly of vegetables while avoiding ones that are high in sugar and starch. Research online for appropriate fruits and vegetables. I use pear (a little sugary but good in moderation), squash, bananas, carrots, etc.

As for sunlight, I would absolutely not suggest exposing them to direct sunlight. They do not take well to long exposure to sunlight but indirect sunlight is fine. The only difference from lack of sunlight and its presence is the colors tend to be less vivid from lack thereof.

White color tends to stick a lot better whereas other colors don't so your tancho orandas should stick their usual color pattern for a long time although expect some of your fry to have orange patterns splattered around but they may eventually change depending on environmental conditions and genetics.

now the light problem is solved

let us focus on nutrition ..

in my country it is hard to find this kinds of ready goldfish food ..

so i have to make the food my self :

1. Spinach

2. peas

3. banana

4. pear

5. carrot

6. shrimp ( as an animal protein - shrimp do or i have to add sth else .. ? - )

7. garlic

8. crashed spirulina

is sth else missing or sth should be left ?

You would be surprised I make gel foods combining those and then sardines/mackerel/tuna, acidophilus, calcium tablets and multivitamins (Enervon or Centrum). Knox gelatin is the brand I use.

If you're using canned fish with tomato sauce, mustard or oil included, wash them a little bit to remove those substances although a little tomato sauce residue will not hurt the fish but I'm not sure about mustard.

ok then i ll add one of those 3 i ll find plus gelatin

and then make it like small tablets easy for fish to eat ..

but one of my friends used to breed goldfish and hybrid them to get cool fry ..

and he told me that breeding red cap is not ideal and it is hard plus i ll not get fry with real red cap .. :S do u have some pics for red cap fry breed @ home ( i mean not in the farm industry ) ??
