So I haven't seen much of the shrimp topic and maybe I'm not looking hard enough. Who sets up red cherry and other colonies ? Just curious to see what's out there and why you enjoy the hobby of shrimp farming. Post your current set ups, why you do it, and what you get out of it. (Food/money/fun) What types of shrimp do you breed and what have you bread in the past. Maybe if you have future plans on doing something like that let's chat about it. I'm personally always interested in learning about new projects. Look forward to hearing and hopefully seeing some projects.

Cheers

Hello! Erm, I have cherries, yellow, sunkist, tiger, crs, blue pearl and yep, they seem to be living happily and are breeding well despite its only a 8gallon with 2 other Crays.

I'm rather new here, so ya..

Very cool. My 40 breeder setup is going to have a strong shrimp population as well.

Unfortunately put on hold again due to drastic cut in hours at work... ugh.

Got everything except the live plants, heater, and air pump (starting with sponge until shrimp colonies are well established).

Well there's an easy solution to that ! Doesn't you company offer a bring your pet to work policy? I'm actually highly fortunate I have my own building and I own the company so I my end up turning a back office into a little hobby room for myself
I did a little cleaning and adjusting to it yesterday, my 55 gal with frontosa fry is on the right.

Bring my pet to work or no, I still have to have the cash to order the plants I need, since I can't find what I need at any LFS around here...

Not so sure a tank would do so well in my work environment...
Machine shop... Much oil, coolent, solvent, metal, graphite, and various other particulates in the air... lol.
