Does anyone breed these for feeders? They're too expensive to keep buying, but apparently they're really easy to breed and very prolific, sort of like ghost shrimp but not a PITA to raise.

I was just curious, they seem like a good source of feeder shrimp, although most people probably just use them in planted tanks because they look nice.

It seems you're better off using the money you make selling the offspring shrimp to buy food/feeders for the fish you're feeding. Of course there's a small hassle in the process of selling but its fairly easy.

Howdy,

Mine breed fine in a 10 gal species tank. I have transferred a total of four dozen into my 220 gal piranha tank to establish a new colony there. I can tell you that I do not see four dozen RCS, but a few are still around. Not worth using as feeders because they're not much of a meal, but fun addition for biodiversity and an occasional snack.
