Agreed on both counts, they really are easy, cherry shrimp + java moss or any fine leaved plant = tons of cherry shrimp. In no time at all you'll have so many it'll be crazy.
Being that they are crustaceans they are really sensitive to water quality so be sure that water quality is at least ok but perfect is better obviously. Make sure water contains good amounts of trace elements and you need some sort of fine leaved plant like moss and your set.
Ive been wanting to breed them as feeders. Do you think a 20 gallon long is a good breeding tank for them? It will have a large sponge filter, ac50 with sponge pre-filter and moss as well as some other plants. Could I start with maybe 20 shrimp?
