Red Claw Crab setup

Well guys i stumbled across a free 29 gallon near my house with the stand. I was interested in keeping some red claw crabs. I have a filter, heater and a desk lamp im going to use with custom diy hood. I have a couple questions thought..
1) Should 5 gallons be enough water? I already have plans for the land area
2) What should the salinity be? as i know they are brackish
3) would 2 crabs be okay? or would a solo be better?

Get a few crabs. And that's definitely enough water , just make sure you have enough LAND. Use sand instead of gravel, Quikrete Play Sand(american standard sold at Home Depot) from the hardware store is about 30 times cheaper and is fine to use. They like to stab around the sand making their claws much stronger and also its better for their legs. The can also burrow down into the sand for a quick hiding spot.

Brackish water is a must, but a little bit of aquarium salt will do until you figure that out.

Make sure you cover the tank. They can climb just about any type of string or wire , and can jump surprisingly high in the water.

Although now i have raised the level to about 6 inches deep because it's much much easier to maintain.

You can see how with the rocks his tiny legs would have alot of pressure on them to walk, they also enjoy "sifting" the sand with their claws, a benefit rocks doesn't give.

And as you can see with a little bit of conditioning red claw crabs will hunt prey.
