Hi, i got a red devil of 7 inches. When i keep him in a 2.5foot 50g aquarium his head developed into a hump and colors were intense. But when i shifted him to a 2foot 30g aquarium his hump went off like it was never there
and colors faded to whitish.
Also one new thing what he do.He just moves up and down first slowly than drastically fast resulting in water spilling out of the tank right to sofa.
What to do.
P.S he is a mean red devil who has bitten me twice.

Sounds like he isnt happy in his new digs. Also 30gal is way to small for a RD. He needs at least a 60gal to himself as an adult. Id say he has been through too much stress to keeps his colors and hump. Thats not really a good sign.

I agree, he sounds depressed lol.. hook him up with nice home, his colors, hump, and personality will bounce right back.

agreed...he probably grew up in the first tank so was fairly used to it, but the move alone is enough to stress him for a while, plus the fact that his new home is not sufficient for him is only going to stress him more. he definitely needs a larger tank as soon as possible.

well the move to a 30g tank is cos, the bigger tank is now the home of frontosa and sooner i will be transferring him to a newer tank will buy a 3ft tank for him only.
This home is just temporary

yeah its because he is stressed and depressed in such a small tank, please get him into a larger tank as soon as possible, would be great if you could get a 75g for him to be in by himself

55g tank is not big enough for a single Red Devil or Frontosa. Let alone a colony of Frontosa which is the only way they thrive. Your looking at a 75g for a Red Devil Solo. For the Frontosa your looking at atleast a 125g if you want a few. sounds like impulse buys. Perhaps you need to do some more research before buying anymore fish.;)

Its not cool to throw him in a way too small tank, we all know how its just temporary can lead to a couple of months if not longer....
