i've just inherited 8 baby red devils who i've had for 2 weeks now in their own tank. they are about 1cm long at the moment and was wondering how quickly they grow and what would be best to feed them on to get them to grow quickest. never kept red devils before but have plenty of tank space to start!

Hi,

Red devil can grow as fast as an inch per month. I'm hoping you have a sufficient tank for all 8 of them.

The best diet for Red Devil is the same as most cichlids, ... cichlid sticks/pellets.
Also spirulina stick are very healthy for them.
For a treat you can feed blood worms, krill. :)

wasn't planning on keeping all of them, have a 200g to put them in once they get over 3" so will see how they get on but realise i may not be able to keep them all. If anyone is from kent and fancies a pair let me know. I'll raise them all probably to 6" then make a decision. would they get on together or are they likely to kill each other as they seem quarrelsome even at 1cm long!

yea.......rd will grow really fast.when they get at least one inch feed them chopped small pieces of beef heart.that will really increase growth quick.;)
