depends on tank size, diet, water parameters, all sorts of stuff. in optimum conditions id say 10 months to a year post spawning, but that doesnt mean that they cant get bigger faster or stay smaller longer than that. every fish will be different
mine grew to 9 inches in 10 months they are great fish, mine had a great personality, was sorry to see him go, even tho he never let anythign else in the tank live
