I have a 2.5 inch Red Devil who is mostly red but has some black spots around his fins and body. Will this eventually change color to red, white or pink or will it stay? First time owning a RD he currently is in a 55 gallon grow out tank that will be moved to a 90 or 120.

The black and grey will fade to the yellow background color over time, though even in older fish the black will sometimes appear and then disappear after a few weeks.

The yellow color of the fish will gradually turn orange, though you can speed and brighten that up by feeding an intense color food, such as Hikari Blood Parrot Pellets.

Thank you I’m currently feeding him omega one super color pellets as well as freeze dried shrimp. Do you think it is a female or male?

I can't tell at this size, but there are people on this site who are pretty good at vent sexing. Take pictures of the bottom side of the fish out of water and post a separate thread requesting help vent-sexing.
