Red devil eating his own waste?

I feed my devil once a day- about 10 6mm pellets of New Life Spectrum. But here lately there has been little to no waste to vacuum up, and I'm used to vacuuming long chunks of droppings every week.

Do you think he's eating his own feces?

He's probably putting it in his mouth and spitting it out in chunks. Do this enough times, and it will look like there is no waste in the tank.

The full ones with enough food will spit out poop , the the hungry ones will try to sort out whatever it can eat still in the poop.

Why only once a day?

That fish family eat like pigs and you feed once a day no wonder he eats his own poop.
