i was wondering how many times a day do you feed a 2in devil it seems there always hungry i mean always, even after i feed them like 5mins there back to the surface for more food even my oscar didn't eat like this. also how long til you can tell if it's a midas or a devil at 2in i guess it'll be hard. i had 2 2in devils/midas in my 65g they got along great for 3 days then today one was up at the top of the tank pinned behind the heater the other one was all over him i couldn't believe how mean it became it had not showed any of that for 3 days i had to remove the other one and return it to the store. this little guy hits the glass if put my fingers up there i thought they would do this when they got bigger not this small?

I like my fish to grow so I feed them when they are hungry. If your little devil wants to eat 4 or 5 times a day then go for it. They also love krill and earthworms, if you mix their diet up they will grow faster and become more colorful, keep pellets as the staple though. As for the species, chances are you have a hybrid of both species. Keep your tank full of hiding spots and it will reduce aggression. G'luck
Man, ran out of breath reading this one. Twice a day is fine, they will still beg for more. Put more hiding spots and the devils maybe fine for a while. 2 probably won't hang long term in that tank. Devil or midas? Good luck ... in all likelyhood it is a cross between the two. Very difficult to get a pure strain of either these days from most lfs or corp stores.scotth42;2308806; said:

I feed all juvies very tiny meals many times a day...... Probably four or five times a day, but with VERY SMALL AMOUNTS.
This is the ideal way if you are able to do it.
