I have purchased 3 red devils to growout in a 75 with hopes of getting a single male in there for life. My question is, are there any easy signs to look for besides one just beating the crap of the other 2? I chose the largest 3 in the tank with male hopes(petsmart) at 4,4, and 5". The bigger one has claimed the main "cave" in the tank, and constantly chases the other 2 around, but no serious harm done. I am assuming this could possibly be my male, but it's also my first rd experience. Anything helps, thanks everyone.

Most if not all the RD's sold at Petsmart are RD/Midas crosses. Not to discurage you, they grow into really nice looking fish. Can you post a picture? It might help but it's really hard to tell from photos, but we love pictures! Good luck with them.
I can post up a few pics if i can figure out around this disabled download thing from my phone.. As far as midas/rd, doesn't matter too much to me. They definitely don't have the fat rd lips though. As far as differences, i can't really tell much between them besides size and white markings..
If you can get a pic of the vent that would help. Males vent is thin and pointed towards the anus, females and blunt and thicker.
